Zachary L. Bertsch, age 30, of Bluffton, passed away Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. at his residence, after a three year journey with cancer. Born on July 25, 1982, in Bluffton, to Michael L. and Carmon J. (Pfister) Bertsch, Zach married Jenny L. Rufener in Leo, IN, on September 24, 2006, she survives. Zach was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. He graduated from Adams Central High School in 2001. He graduated from I.P.F.W. in 2005 with a degree in accounting, and later received his M.B.A. from I.P.F.W. in 2007. As a certified public accountant, Zach served at Gateway Woods Family Services and finished his career as an administrator at Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton. Zach loved his family, friends, and especially his Savior, Jesus Christ with all his heart. He looks forward to one day meeting many of his family and friends in Heaven. Additional survivors include one son, Zion M. Bertsch and one daughter, Moriah G. Bertsch, both of Bluffton; Paternal grandparents, Oscar and Sylvia Bertsch of Decatur; maternal grandmother, Barb Pfister of Bluffton; two sisters, Jennifer Fosnaugh of Fort Wayne, and Cassie (Aaron) Gerber of Bluffton; three brothers, Ryan (Jessica) Bertsch of Bluffton, Brad (Sonya) Bertsch of Bluffton, and Daniel Bertsch of Decatur; his mother and father-in-law, John and Janice Rufener of Doylestown, OH; three brothers-in-law, Jared Rufener of Arizona, and Jacob (Beth) Rufener and Jason Rufener, both of Ohio; three sisters-in-law, Joy (Jordan) Stoller, Josie (Javan) Stoller, and Julie Rufener, all of Ohio; and fifteen nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Tom Pfister. Visitation will be Saturday, June 8, 2013, from noon until 8:00 P.M., at Goodwin - Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel. Services will be held Sunday, at 10:30 A.M., at the Apostolic Christian Church East, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Ed Schwartz and Ron Kipfer will be officiating. Burial will be at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery. In lieu of floral tributes, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Redemption Legacy Fund for Loving Shepherd Ministries.
