Wilson G. Shepherd, 77, of Bluffton, passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 17, 2016, at Signature Healthcare in Bluffton.

Born in Hazard, KY, on May 22, 1939, to Bazle Shepherd Sr. and Hettie M. (Monday) Shepherd, Wilson married Anna L. Childers in Clintwood, WV, on Jan. 31, 1970; she survives.

Wilson retired from Poor Bros. (Venture Corp) after over 30 years of service and was a member of the Faith Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother, Felix (Jackie) Shepherd of Florida; and a sister, Nannie Quinones of Bluffton; and his poodle, Sarah.

Aside from his parents, Wilson was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bazle and Harold Shepherd, and a sister, Betty Ann Shepherd.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton.  Services will be held immediately following visitation on Tuesday, at 1:00 PM, at the funeral home, with Rev. Travis Combest officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Bluffton.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family in care of the funeral home.
