William "Bill" Uptgraft, 75, of Bluffton, died at 7:41 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at the Bluffton Regional Medical Center. Mr. Uptgraft had been employed as a mill operator for the Louisiana-Pacific Co. of Missoula, Mont. He was a Navy veteran, serving between 1953 and 1957 on the submarine USS O'Ryan. He was a member of American Legion Post 111. Survivors include three children, Chris Rodda and Kym Miller, both of Kennewick, Wash., and Laurie Whipple of Pasco, Wash.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jack (Janice) Uptgraft and Charles (Dee) Uptgraft, both of Bluffton. Services will be private and there will be no visitation. Burial will be at the Six Mile Cemetery.
