William Neuenschwander Jr., 89, of Bluffton, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Christian Care Retirement Community. William was born Oct. 6, 1924, in Wells County to William G. Neuenschwander and Lizzie Schwartz. He married Mildred Fiechter in Bluffton Dec. 9, 1945; she preceded him in death March 31, 2010. William was a farmer and a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. Survivors include four sons, Tom (Sue) Neuenschwander of Bluffton, Terry (Jean) Neuenschwander of Bluffton, Jeff (Mary Jo) Neuenschwander of Bluffton, and Rex (Becky) Neuenschwander of Bluffton; seven daughters, Nancy (Gary) Schladenhauffen of Craigville, Jan (Joe) Schwartz of Bluffton, Darlene (Sam) Habegger of Bluffton, Vickie (Jerry) Meyer of Owosso, Mich., Carol Mock of Bluffton, Marcia (Chuck) Geisel of Bluffton, and Peg (Jeff) Yergler of Bluffton; 32 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles (Doris) Neuenschwander of Bluffton; and three sisters, Lucille Grandlienard of Bluffton, Betty (William) Frauhiger of Bluffton, and Joyce (Howard) Baumgartner of Bluffton. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and John Neuenschwander, and five sisters, Ellen Fiechter, Anna Frauhiger, Ada Gerber, Martha Heyerly and Virgil Isch. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 27, at the Apostolic Christian Church East with Ronald Kipfer and Doyle Frauhiger officiating. Calling hours are 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, and 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at the Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church.
