William "Gene" Moser, 85, of Bluffton, passed away Tuesday morning, December 18, 2018, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
Gene was born in Wells County on Nov. 19, 1933, to William and Emma (Meyer) Moser. He married Edna L. Reinhard in Bluffton on Dec. 25, 1954; she survives.
A 1951 graduate of Bluffton High School, Gene also had attended Culver Military Academy during this eighth and ninth grade years. He then attended Indiana Business College for a year. He served in the United States Army from 1954 until 1956, stationed in Germany. Gene owned National Oil and Gas from 1956 until 2018. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church.
Gene will be remembered for his sense of humor and his willingness to help anyone in need. He had love for his family and enjoyed spending time with his potluck group for over 64 years. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling.
In addition to his wife, Gene is survived by three daughters, Robin (Ernie) Schwartz, Melinda (Gene) Gilgen, and Fawn (Blake) Gerber, all of Bluffton; two sons, Drake (Cherie) Moser and Trout (Lisa) Moser, both of Bluffton; along with 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Aside from his parents, Gene was preceded in death by a grandson.
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel, and Friday, Dec. 21 , 2018, from 1:00 until 8:00 PM, also at the funeral home. Services will be Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at 10:00 AM, at the Bluffton North Apostolic Christian Church, with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. Doyle Frauhiger and Tim Drayer will officiate. Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by the American Legion Post 111 in conjunction with the United States Army Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to Family LifeCare of Berne or Christian Care Retirement Community.
