William A. Isch, 80, of Bluffton, died at 12:33 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011, at River Terrace Estates. Mr. Isch was born in Decatur on July 14, 1930, to William J. and Iva (Andrews) Isch. He married Mary Lou Strait in Pennville on Aug. 17, 1957; she survives. Mr. Isch served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. He farmed in Wells County from 1957 to 1983, and worked as a truck driver with Mason/Dixson and Hi-Way Dispatch for 17 years, retiring in October 1994. He was a member of the First Church of Christ, American Legion Post #111, and the Lions Club, and enjoyed tractor pulling. Other surviving relatives include one son, David W. Isch of Lafayette; one brother, Gary Isch of Vancouver, Wash; one sister, Marlene Isch of Bluffton; one grandson, James L. Costello; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Isch was preceded in death by one son, James Isch, who died in 1988; and one sister, Barbara Hunt, who died in 1977. Calling hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home with Jerry Qualls officiating. Burial is at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, in Pennville. Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer's Association and Ossian United Methodist Church.
