William "Bud" E. Roberts, 98, of Brevard, NC, passed away Saturday morning, Feb. 15, 2025, at Tore's Home in Brevard, NC.

Bud was born in Elgin, IL, on Apr. 21, 1926, to William and Sue Roberts.  He married Lavera L. Bertsch in Elgin on Jan. 22, 1949.  She preceded him in death on Sept. 12, 2015.

Bud graduated from Elgin High School in Illinois and owned and operated his own appliance repair business, Gregg-Roberts Appliance Company, in Chicago for many years.

After selling his business in Chicago, Bud went on to build homes in Elgin, IL, Minocqua, WI, Dundee, IL on the Fox River, and Brevard, NC.  Following that endeavor, he became a skilled woodworker, having entered wood projects in the North Carolina Wood Working Guild.

A private graveside service will be held at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Adams County.  Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
