Virginia M. Nelson, 78, of Bluffton, died at 7:20 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2013 at her residence. Born in Minneapolis, Minn. on Feb. 15, 1935 to Wright E. and Marguerite (Duxbury) Dent, she married David E. Nelson on Jan. 2, 1954 in Racine, Wisc.; he died July 20, 1981. Other survivors include a son, David W. Nelson of Bluffton; a daughter, Lisa (Wade) Atkins of Bluffton; a sister, Linda Hollbrook of Arizona; five grandchildren, one of whom, Dave Nelson, was raised by Virginia; two step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Lynn Nelson, and a grandson. There will be no services.
