Virginia M. Crist, 98,of Bluffton, died at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at Christian Care Retirement Community. Mrs. Crist was born in Huntington on Sept. 18, 1910 to J. Frank and Estella (Briggs) Wolverton. She married Ralph Gaylord Crist in Huntington on Sept. 25, 1928; he preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1966. A 1928 graduate of Huntington High School, Mrs. Crist worked at Hunkler's Products in Roanoke for nine years. She was a member of the First Church of Christ. Surviving relatives include one son, Kevin (Cheryl) Crist of Bluffton; one daughter, Betty Boyer of West Lafayette; five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Crist was also preceded in death by one son, Jack Edward Crist; two brothers, Jack and Donald Wolverton; and one sister, Betty Owens. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel with Larry Sprinkle officiating. Calling hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Burial is at the Hoverstock Cemetery, in Zanesville. Preferred memorials are to the First Church of Christ.
