Thomas W. Baumgartner, 69, of Ossian, died at 1:25 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at his residence. Mr. Baumgartner was born on April 27, 1942, in Wells County, to Samuel and Mary (Reinhard) Baumgartner. He married Marilyn Baumgartner on June 16, 1963 in Bluffton; she survives. A 1960 graduate of Bluffton High School, Mr. Baumgartner was a retired Harrison Township farmer, who also worked as a self-employed metal fabricator for 10 years. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. Other surviving relatives include one son, Mark (Grace) Baumgartner of Bluffton; two daughters, Jenny (Lynn) Frauhiger of Bluffton and Deb (Rick) Fiechter of St. Cloud, Fla.; one sister, Dorothy (Jay) Kipfer of Bluffton; and 13 grandchildren. Mr. Baumgartner was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Houser; and one sister, Millie Baumgartner. Calling hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton and from 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Apostolic Christian Church East. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at the church, with Lynn Fiechter and Phil Stettner officiating. Burial is at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery.
