Thomas E. Sliger, 69, of rural Bluffton, passed away at 4:25 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Mr. Sliger was born in Bluffton on Aug. 25, 1942, to Gene and Catherine (Huss) Sliger. He married Linda Jaskie in Bluffton on April 29, 1983; she survives. A 1960 graduate of Bluffton High School, Mr. Sliger retired from Peyton's Northern in Bluffton. Other surviving relatives include a sister, Connie (Don) Addington of Bluffton; a brother, Gary (Lori) Sliger of Bluffton; and two nephews and nine nieces. Mr. Sliger is also survived by his dog and loving companion, Brandy. The family will receive friends from noon until 1 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Karen (Jaskie) Dunlop presiding over the service. A private internment will be held at a later date. In lieu of floral tributes, the family asks that memorial contributions be given to the Animal Shelter of Bluffton/Wells County, or an organization of the donor's choice.
