Thomas R. Melching, 54, of Bluffton, died at 1:25 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at his residence. Mr. Melching was born in Bluffton on April 14, 1956 to Homer and Lois "Ginger" (Kleinknight) Melching. A 1975 graduate of Bluffton High School, Mr. Melching attended college in Michigan for two years. He worked for the Marriott Hotel in Fort Wayne and was bar manager in the 1980s. He owned the Studio One Frame Shop in Bluffton for 10 years. He attended Grace Baptist Church in Bluffton. He was an avid stamp collector and loved reading. Surviving relatives include one nephew, Brent Melching of Monroe; one niece, Tori Melching of Bluffton; and one great-nephew, Trace Melching of Monroe. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jeffrey A. Melching, who died in 2004. Calling hours will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel, 3220 E. Ind. 124, Bluffton. Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Six Mile Cemetery at a later date. Preferred memorials are to the Wells County Habitat For Humanity.
