Thomas L. "Tom" Mayne, 69, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 14, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne, following an extended illness.

Tom was born in Muncie, IN. on August 7, 1951 to Richard and Mary Ellen (Adamson) Mayne, both parents preceded him in death. He graduated from P.A. Allen High School  in 1969, and attended Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Indianapolis, IN.  Tom married Gloria J. (Gerwig) in Bluffton on July 25, 1970, she survives in Bluffton. Tom worked at Corning Glass and was a security officer with Peyton's Northern in Bluffton. Tom worked as a Deputy and later a dispatcher with the Wells County Sheriff's Dept, retiring as a dispatcher with the Indiana State Police in Ft. Wayne, IN.

Tom attended the First Reformed Church in Bluffton and the Fraternal Order of Police.  In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, reading and traveling.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Brian (Jennifer) Mayne and Gregory (Ashley) Mayne, both of Bluffton, three grandchildren; Sophia, Gracie and Savannah, a brother, John Mayne of Bluffton. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Mayne.

Private family services will be held at the Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, Dr. Bryson G. Bell will officiate services. Private family burial will be at the Mossburg Cemetery, Liberty Center, IN.

Memorials may be made to Tom's memory to Bluffton/Wells County Animal Shelter or First Reformed Church.
