Thomas E. Harris, 64, of Bluffton, died at 8:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur.Mr. Harris was born in Marion Oct. 9, 1944 to Emery Earl and Winifred I. (Ellison) Harris. His first wife of 31 years, Linda L. McClain, preceded him in death in 2000. He married Susan K. Knapp in Gatlinburg, Tenn. on Dec. 26, 2002; she survives.A 1962 graduate of Chester Center High School, Mr. Harris served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968 and was a memberof American Legion Post 111. He worked at Mill Rite, Pretzels andwas employed since 2004 at Pena's Mechanical Contractorsin Ossian. He was a past governor of Moose Lodge in Bluffton and was also a member of the Elks Lodge. Other surviving relatives include two sons, Sean E. (Michaelle) Harris and Mike C. (Trish) Harris, both of Bluffton; one stepson, Patrick R. Rogers of Bluffton; three brothers, Jim (Rose) Harris of Montpelier, Earl (Jane) Harris of Bluffton and Lester (Jo) Harris of Montpelier; one sister, Evelyn Herring of Upland; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel with Rick and Darrell Herring officiating. Calling hours will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial is at Fairview Cemetery, in Bluffton. Preferred memorials are to the Cancer Services '
