Thomas D. "Tom" Coffield, 73, of Uniondale, passed away Monday evening, Jan. 10, 2022, at Grey Stone Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne.

Tom was born in Fort Wayne on July 11, 1948, to Marcus and June (Thomas) Coffield.  Both parents preceded him in death.

Tom attended Lancaster High School and early in life he enjoyed hunting and trapping with his father.  For many years he owned and operated Coffield Salvage and Recycling in Uniondale.  More than anything else, Tom looked forward to Halloween every year, as he enjoyed passing out candy to all the children who would stop by.

Survivors include two daughters, Amie and Jennifer; a stepdaughter, Vicki Heron of Bluffton; a stepson, Todd Durham of Bluffton; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janet (Rob) Six of Bryan, OH, and Bonnie (Dan) Fritz of Wolcottville; and a brother, Larry (Kim) Coffield of Huntington.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a stepson, Mark Durham.

Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 17, 2022, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, followed immediately by a memorial service at 2:00 PM.  Dennis Meredith will officiate.
