Theodore William "Ted" Pfister, 80, of Bluffton, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017, at his home.
He was born April 17, 1937, in Bluffton, to William J. and Elizabeth Moser Pfister. He married Rose E. Lantz on July 26, 1959; she survives. A graduate of the Bluffton High School Class of 1955, he was a lifelong farmer. He was member of the Apostolic Christian Church. Family was very important to Ted, as was his willingness to express his love for the Lord.
He is suvived by his children, Leonda (Lynn) Stieglitz of New Haven, Chris (Shari) Pfister of Berne, Daniel (Sherry) Pfister of Bluffton, Courtney (Jodi) Pfister of Bluffton and Matthew (Andrea) Pfister of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Mary Jo Gerber and Julia (Victor) Gerber, both of Bluffton; a sister-in-law, Barbara Pfister of Bluffton; 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Lance W. Pfister; a brother, Thomas W. Pfister; and a brother-in-law, Paul Gerber.
A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 10, at the Apostolic Christian Church East, with Ryan Bertsch and Vince Pfister officiating.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 8, and from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 9, at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Visitation also will be from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday, June 10, at the church.
Burial will be in the Apostolic Christian Church cemetery.
