Terry L. Werling, 79, of Ossian, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, January 11, 2026, at AccentCare Hospice Center - Lutheran Home, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.

Terry was born in Ossian on October 22, 1946, to Donald and Juanita (Reece) Werling. He grew up in Wells County surrounded by family, friends, and the small-town life he was proud to call home. On June 7, 1969, he married Judy Borror in Bluffton. Together they built a beautiful life and home filled with love and laughter.

A 1965 graduate of Ossian High School, Terry went on to attend Indiana University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing. He later received his master's degree from the University of Saint Francis. Terry worked as an audiologist, a career that reflected who he was: someone who cared deeply about others, listened well, and always wanted to help.

More than anything, Terry loved his family. He was a devoted husband and an incredibly proud father. He was steady, supportive, and always there for the people who mattered most. Being a grandfather brought him so much joy, and his grandchildren were truly the light of his life. He loved spending time with them, following their activities, and simply being "Papa."

Terry also loved sports, whether he was watching, talking about them, or sharing that love with others. He had a true passion for his teams (Go IU!), and he genuinely enjoyed the friendships, fun, and community that came along with it.

In addition to his wife, Judy, Terry is survived by a son, Ryan (Shauna) Werling of Center Valley, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Kelli (Matthew) Stoll of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; and four grandchildren, Addison and Mason Werling, and Madelyn and Vivian Stoll.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ron Werling.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, at Goodwin - Harnish Funeral Home in Bluffton. Services will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at the funeral home, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Pastor Tim O'Sullivan will officiate. Private burial will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton.
