September 28, 1955 – December 14, 2016
Terry A. Beer, 61, of Bluffton, passed away on Wednesday morning, Dec. 14, 2016, at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne.
Born on Sept. 28, 1955, in Decatur, IN, to the late Arthur and Corabelle (Schug) Beer, he married the love of his life, Mary Jo (Harsin) Manley on July 13, 1990; she survives.
Terry graduated from Bellmont High School in 1973 and then attended Ivy Tech Community College. For the past 19 years, he had been the owner and operator of the Stag Bar and Grill with his son Jared.
He was a member of many organizations, including the Bluffton Masonic Lodge #145 F&AM, Bluffton Elks Lodge 796, and the Decatur Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, going boating and camping, gambling in Las Vegas, his Dobermans, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his big heart and loyal friendships.
In addition to his wife, Terry is survived by a son, Jared (Amber Lawhorn) Beer of Bluffton; three daughters, Jamie (Jeff) Elzey, Amy Omlor, and Jody (Robb) Wilson, all of Indianapolis; a brother, Gary Beer; and three grandchildren, Brandy Beer, Alexis Elzey, and Braxton Wilson.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lynn and James Beer.
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, at Goodwin - Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home, followed by a time for friends and family members to share memories of Terry. After services are completed at the funeral home, everyone will be welcome to gather at the Stag Bar and Grill on Thursday evening, in which an Elk's Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
