Terrence "Terry" Kern, 67, of rural Ossian, passed away Wednesday evening, October 14, 2015, at the VA Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Terry was born on October 13, 1948, in Joliet, IL, to Charles G. and Dorothy G. (Linden) Kern; his parents preceded him in death. A 1966 graduate of Bluffton High School, Terry later served in the United States Army from 1968 until 1970, during the Vietnam War, where he spent a majority of his time stationed in Germany. Terry worked at Reimschisel Ford in Bluffton for several years and later went to work for First Fleet in Bluffton until his retirement. He was a member of the Bluffton American Legion Post 111. A memorial service to celebrate Terry's life will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2015, at 3:00 PM, at Goodwin - Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the funeral home from 1:00 until 3:00 PM. A private burial will be held at a later date at Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton.
