Sylvia S. Reinhard, 96, of Bluffton, went to be with her Lord at 3:52 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at the Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton. Sylvia was born May 29, 1914, in Adams County, to Daniel O. and Katherine Kipfer. Sylvia cared for her widowed mother for 38 years. She also worked as a seamstress for many years in Berne at The Winner House and at Berco. In addition to serving her mother, Sylvia lovingly served her family and friends with many deeds of kindness throughout her lifetime. Her sugar cookies delighted many homes throughout the community. A devoted Christian, she was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. Sylvia is survived by 19 nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law, Martha Reinhard of Ossian and Lucille Reinhard of Bluffton. She was preceded in death by five brothers,Ephraim, Ulrich, Alphie, Aaron and Amos; and one niece and one nephew. Calling hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 6, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. There will be additional calling from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 7, at the Apostolic Christian Church East. Services will be held at the Apostolic Christian Church East at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 7, with John Reinhard and Ed Schwartz officiating. Burial will be at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Christian Care Retirement Community.
