Susia A. "Sue" Pinkerton, 76, of Keystone, passed away Wednesday evening, Jan. 20, 2021, at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Sue was born in Wells County on Mar. 2, 1944, to Jacob E. and Hazel I. (Mankey) Borne.  She married Raymond L. Pinkerton in Wells County on June 28, 1963.  He preceded her in death on May 12, 2006.

A 1962 graduate of Lancaster Central High School, Sue was a lifelong homemaker and assisted Raymond on the family farm.  Even after Raymond died, Sue continued to help the family operate the farm.

Sue was a member of Sonlight Wesleyan Church in Bluffton.  She enjoyed gardening and canning, and especially enjoyed cooking dishes for her grandchildren.  One of her favorite things to do was to have her family over for Christmas and watch the grandkids open their gifts.

Survivors include four sons, Mike (Jodi) Pinkerton of Bluffton, John (Michelle) Pinkerton of Keystone, Terry (Kathryn) Pinkerton of Geneva, and Eric Pinkerton of Keystone; a brother, George (Ruth Ann) Borne of Bluffton; and a sister, Ida (Jim) Piqune of Huntington.  She is also survived by six grandchildren, Mariah Pinkerton, Brittany (Michael) Towne, Andrew (Erin) Pinkerton, Amanda (Diego) Unigarro, Erika (Chris) Jack, and Tod Pinkerton; and nine great-grandchildren, with one on the way.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sue was preceded in death by a brother, James Borne.

Private family services are being held on Monday, Jan. 25, 2021, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Lyle Breeding officiating.  Burial will follow at Stahl Cemetery in Wells County.
