Steven Wayne Perry, 40, of Poneto, died at 2 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the Bluffton Regional Medical Center. Steven was born July 24, 1971, in Bluffton, to Ralph S. "Steve" Perry and Jackie F. Newman. He was a 1991 graduate of Southern Wells High School. He was employed for 10 years at Sterling Casting before the plant closed. Steven was very family oriented and kind-hearted. He was always there for anyone who needed his help, regardless of whether he knew them or not. He married Shellie L. Steiner Oct. 20, 2006, at Liberty Center. His wife survives. He is also survived by his mother and stepfather, Jackie F. and Michael Young, of rural Zanesville. He is also survived by a son, Stevie W. Perry, of Poneto; a daughter, Stephanie A. Perry of Valparaiso; his grandmother, Blanche (Arnold) Perry of rural Montpelier; two stepdaughters, Karroll K. Moore and Tamarah H. Moore, both of Poneto; four stepsons, Michael M. Moore of Ohio and Patrick T. Moore, William A. Hunt, and Quentin A. Hunt, all of Poneto; three brothers, Kevin L. (Jamie) Perry, Jonah M. Perry, and Shawn B. Perry, all of rural Zanesville; his mother-in-law, Darlene K. Mertz of North Carolina; and two brothers-in-law, Sidney W. (Theresa) Hamilton of Ohio and Anthony G. Steiner of Poneto. A brother, Tracy A. Perry, preceded him in death. Calling will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the family.
