Sharlee Mae Klefeker, 80, of Bluffton, died at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at the Bluffton Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Klefeker had been employed at Wayne Metal Products, the Caylor-Nickel Clinic, and the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. She also served as an administrative assistant for the Wells County Area Plan Commission, retiring in 1997. She was a member of Elks Lodge 796 and the Moose Lodge of Bluffton, and was a 30-year member of the American Legion Post 111 Auxiliary. She loved gardening, reading, baking, and most of all spending time with her family. She was born May 10, 1932, in Wells County, to Boston H. Fate and Iva (Buell) Fate. She married Stuart R. Klefeker Oct. 27, 1951, at Markle. Her husband preceded her in death Feb. 26, 2006. Survivors include a goddaughter, 10 god-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a brother, Boston Junior Fate of Palm Harbor, Fla. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Vanice Athinson and Avis Wright, and a brother, Robert Fate. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at the Grove Cemetery near Poneto with Pastor Greg Comp officiating. There will be calling from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Goodwin-Cale and Harnish Memorial Chapel. Preferred memorials are to Family LifeCare of Berne.
