Ruth N. Maddux, 91, of Fort Wayne and formerly of Bluffton, died at 12:50 a.m. Friday, May 14, at her residence. Mrs. Maddux was born in Hanbil, Mo. on Dec. 15, 1918, to Harry M. and Hazel (Hughes) Miller. She married Nathan H. Maddux in Bluffton; he preceded her in death on March 11, 1981. A 1936 graduate of Bluffton High School, Mrs. Maddux worked at Franklin Electric in Bluffton, CTS Corporation in Berne, and Laws Jewelry, retiring in 1981. She attended Epworth United Methodist Church in Bluffton and enjoyed quilting and sewing. She loved to cook for her family, and making care bears for her grandchildren. Surviving relatives include four daughters, Kathy (Ken) Boeslund of Fort Wayne, Marna (Sheridan) Endicott of Fort Wayne, Diana (Charles) Captain of Bluffton and Gay Isaksen of Palm Desert, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and eight great-greatgrandchildren. Mrs. Maddux was also preceded in death by one sister, Marna Law; and one brother, Harry M. Miller. Calling hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 17, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home with Chaplain Robin La Rue officiating. Burial is at Six Mile Cemetery, in Bluffton. Preferred memorials are to Heartland Hospice of Fort Wayne.
