Ruth E. Julian, 96, of Bluffton, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center. She was born Jan. 30, 1917, in Allen County to Virgil and Mary Schell Campbell. She married Kenneth Julian; he preceded her in death in 1969. She worked at Cooper Tire in Auburn for 18 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and a member of First United Methodist Church in Auburn. She was a past president of American Legion Auxiliary in Bluffton. She is survived by a sister, Valeria Merkey of Bluffton; nieces and nephews, Donald and Betty Lockwood of Bluffton, Sandy and Ron Oswalt of Bluffton, Pat Miller of Fort Wayne, and Claudia Campbell of Bluffton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel with Rev. Greg Rittenhouse officiating. Calling hours are from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Bluffton. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Bluffton.
