Goodwin
November 3, 1926 – April 10, 2021
Ross K. Goodwin, 94, of Ft. Wayne, IN. passed away Saturday morning at his residence, following an extended illness.
Ross was born in Ft. Wayne on Nov. 9, 1926, to Pierce A. and Elizabeth (Schmitt) Goodwin. He married Mary Lou (Boehm) in Ft. Wayne, on Jan. 28, 1950, she preceded him in death on Dec. 6, 1986. He married Margaret (Ashman) in N. Fort Myers, Fl. in 2000, she preceded him in death in 2010.
A 1944 graduate of Southside High School, Ross worked for Railroad Express for 29 years and was a facility engineer for Lincoln Life for over 15 years in Ft. Wayne, IN. Ross was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in World War II. He was a member at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception in Ft. Wayne.
He is survived by his children, a son, Steven (Janice) Goodwin of Ft. Wayne, 4 daughters, Barbara (Donald) Barbeau of Savannah, GA, Karen (Steven) King of Hamilton, IN, Christine (Richard) Hall of Leo, IN and Sharon (Joe) Williams of Venice, FL, 16 grandchildren, 26 great- grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Aside from his parents and spouse, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan K. Farrell; and three brothers, Paul Goodwin, Carl Goodwin and J. Thomas Goodwin.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel 3220 East SR 124 Bluffton, IN. funeral services will follow immediately at 12:00 PM at the Funeral Home, officiated by Deacon Bruce Goodwin.
Graveside services will follow at 2:30 PM Wednesday, at the Catholic Cemetery, 3500 Lake Avenue, Ft. Wayne, IN. Military rites will be conducted by the US Navy Honor Guard and the American Legion Post #47 in Ft. Wayne.
Memorial donations may be made to Heartland Hospice Ft. Wayne.
