Ronald D. Garner, 65, of Bluffton, passed away Saturday morning, January 31, 2015, at his residence. Born on May 4, 1949, to Eugene Garner and Carol (Stoltz) Trepane, his mother still survives in Gary, IN. On October 2, 1969, in Gary, IN, Ron married Kathy Niblick, she preceded him in death on Dec. 15, 2011. Ron later married Matilda L. (Jones), she survives. Ron served in the United States Marine Corps from 1967 until 1971 and attended Lancaster Chapel United Methodist Church in Bluffton. Aside from his wife, Ron is survived by a son, Ronald J. Garner of Bluffton; step-daughter, Heather Coleman of Geneva; step-son, John Edward Everidge of Geneva; 4 grandchildren; mother-in-law, Caroline Jones; and his first mother-in-law, Beverly Niblick of Bluffton. Aside from his father, Ron was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffery Scott Garner. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 3, 2015, from noon until 2:00 P.M. at Goodwin - Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. A funeral service celebrating Ron's life will be held immediately following visitation at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Daugherty Cemetery in Jay County. In lieu of floral tributes, the family asks that memorials contributions in Ron's memory be given directly to the funeral home.
