Roennia J. Baker, 80, of Bluffton, passed away Saturday morning, Aug. 20, 2016, in Bluffton.

She was born Aug. 14, 1936, in Wayne, N.Y., to George and Grace Huff Kelly. She married Gerald W. Baker Sr. Nov. 20, 2000; he survives in Bluffton.

She worked from 1988 to 1998 as a caregiver at Maple Wood County Home in Bluffton. She also worked at the Whistle Stop Ice Cream Shop and was part owner of Tower Gas Station in northern Wells County. She enjoyed camping, cooking and baking; she was an avid bingo player. Roennia loved fishing, "She always wanted to catch the first fish."

She was a past member of the Montpelier Lion's Club.

She is survived by four daughters, Kandy (Larry) Kahn of Craigville, Tammie (Bob) Gelder of Bath, N.Y., Tabathe Burchett of Bluffton, and Felicity "Ann" Pforter of Bluffton; three sons, Randy (Sandi) Simpson of Hornell, N.Y., Sam (Virginia) Simpson of Fort Wayne, and BJ Jacobs of Bluffton; three stepsons, Gerald W. Baker Jr., Ronnie Lee Baker and Curtis (Lori) Baker, all of Montpelier.

A private, family service will be held at a later date at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Memorials are to donor's choice.
