Obituary

Roberta A. Powell, 74, Bluffton, died at 3:05 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2009 at Meadowvale Care Center. Born in Bluffton on June 25, 1935 to Robert and Lela (Cossairt) Poffenberger, she was a graduate of Bluffton High School and formerly worked at Corning Glass Works and Simpson Industries. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include a son, Tim (Pam) Powell of Bluffton; three daughters, Cindy (Eric) Ledyard of Monon, Kathy (Dan) Price of Ossian and Sandra Runyan of Niota, Tenn.; a half-sister, Valerie (Will) Guppy of England; eight grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Poffenberger. Calling hours are from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel. Services will be held there Monday at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Stahl Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Shriners Hospital.
