Obituary

Robert H. Sprinkle, 85, of Bluffton, died at 3:09 a.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center. Mr. Sprinkle owned the former Main Motel in Bluffton for 32 years. He had also been an agent for Farm Bureau Insurance in Huntington County. He was a 1942 graduate of Union Center High School in Huntington County. He was a member of the First Church of Christ in Bluffton and had served as a church elder. He was born Sept. 21, 1924, in Huntington County, to Herman Sprinkle and Goldie Edgington Sprinkle. He married I. Evelyn Best Sept. 25, 1943, in Huntington County; his wife survives. Also surviving are a son, Larry (Penny) Sprinkle of Bluffton, and a daughter, Joan (William) Kashner of Fort Wayne. He is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A brother, Harold Dean Sprinkle, and a sister, Mary Louise Haney, preceded him in death. Calling will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First Church of Christ in Bluffton. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church with Dennis Wood and Jeremy Cox officiating. Burial will be at the Elm Grove Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the First Church of Christ in Bluffton.
