Robert "Bob" Mohler, 72, of Bluffton, passed away Wednesday evening, June 22, 2016, at his residence.

Born in Bluffton on Nov. 4, 1943, to William E. and Betty J. (Houdyshell) Mohler, Bob married Kay F. Stout in Bluffton on Nov. 21, 1964; she survives.

Bob was a 1962 graduate of Bluffton High School and served in the Indiana National Guard.  He was a member of the Calvary Bible Church and American Legion Post 111 of Bluffton.  He worked for the City of Bluffton for over 40 years, retiring as the superintendent of the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Bob was an avid bowler for 30 years, and was also a devoted Indianapolis Colts, IU baseball, and NASCAR fan.  After his retirement, he enjoyed mowing the lawns of all of his neighbors.  Bob will be remembered as someone who never met a stranger.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Kay Mohler of Bluffton; a son, William "Bill" Ray (Erica)  Mohler of Duluth, MN; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; a dear friend to Bob and his family, Fred Schurr of Bluffton; and his two canine companions, Buddy and Caesar.

Aside from his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Mohler Jr., who passed away on May 25, 1965.

Services will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016, at 11:00 AM, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, with visitation from 9:00 AM until service time.  Pastor Henry Schaadt will be officiating.  A private family burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Bluffton.
