Richard "Dick" Shively, 80, of Uniondale, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, July  7, 2016, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
  He was born March 12, 1936, in Wells County to Floyd W. and Dorothy E. Decker  Shively. He married Carole V. Stellhorn Jan. 4, 1958, in Fort Wayne; she survives.
  He was a 1954 graduate of Rockcreek High School and served in the U.S. Army in Korea  from 1954-56. He worked at G.E. in Fort Wayne for 38 years, retiring in 1999. In  recent years, he assisted his grandson with Minnich's Lawn Care and his daughter  with Minnich's Antiques and General Store.
   He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Uniondale. He also was a member of  American Legion Post 111 at the G.E. Quarter Century Club. He was a past member of  the G.E. Volunteer Fire Department.
  The most important thing in his life was his family. He enjoyed traveling to  Florida, woodworking, riding his scooter, spending time at his pond, and spending  time with his friends at the Markle 66 station.
  In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kim (Joe) Minnich of  Bluffton; a brother, Charles E. Shively of Carson, Calif.; two grandchildren and  five great-grandchildren; and Tiny and Zoey, his trusty K-9's.   He was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Bell.
  A service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 11, at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish  Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Dennis Leinbach officiating.

Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 10 and one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at a later date, and American Legion Post 111 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard will  conduct military rites.
