Richard W. Reinhard, 89, of Bluffton, passed away Thursday morning, Sept. 29, 2016, at Signature Healthcare in Bluffton.
Born in Wells County on Sept. 27, 1927, to Emil and Pearl M. (Gerber) Reinhard, he married Berthlean J. Geyer in Wells County on Aug. 27, 1950; she preceded him in death on Aug. 20, 1993.
Richard retired from CTS in Berne in 1991 and later worked for Jackson Construction. He enjoyed people, along with bird watching and fishing, especially walleye fishing at Lake Erie. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church.
Survivors include a son, Rod (Cindy) Reinhard of Bluffton; a daughter, Gale (Jerome) Reinhard of Bluffton; five grandchildren, Julie (Bryan) Drummond, Danielle (Brent) Archbold, Nathanael (Kristina) Reinhard, Jeremy (Kristi) Reinhard, and Brian Reinhard; a step-grandson, Todd (Shelly) Baller, eight great-grandchildren and three step-great granddaughters; and a sister, Lucille (Melvin) Frauhiger of Bluffton.
In addition to his parents and wife, Richard was preceded in death by a daughter, Rowena M. Franklin; an infant son, Ricky A. Reinhard; two grandsons, Adam Reinhard and Joshua Franklin; a daughter-in-law, Deborah J. Reinhard; and four brothers, Roy, Donald, Glen, and Robert Reinhard.
Visitation will be Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, from 2:00 until 8:00 PM, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Services will be held Tuesday, at 10:30 AM, at the Apostolic Christian Church East, with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Adams County.
Memorial contributions may be given to Family Centered Services in Bluffton or Family LifeCare of Berne.
