Richard M. "Dick" Lesh, 76, of Ossian, died at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne. Dick was born July 28, 1936, in Waynedale to Maurice D. and Hazel E. Kumfer Lesh. He married Sharon J. Hewes June 22, 1957, at the Jefferson Chapel in Whitley County; she survives. Dick was a semi-truck driver for 56 years, retiring from AG Trucking in Goshen in 2008. He was a member of American Legion Post 241 in Waynedale. Dick had a passion for auto racing. In 1994, he won the Owner's Championship in the WWAR Midget Association. He was a big IU fan, along with Notre Dame football. He was also an avid Jeff Gordon fan. He had a love for woodworking, especially making various items for his grandchildren. Additional survivors include three daughters, Debbie S. (Jim) Funk of Ossian, Becky J. (Brian) Grear of Ossian, and Linda K. (Scott) Kling of Yoder; two sons, Gary D. Lesh of Ossian and Larry E. Lesh of Fort Wayne; a brother, Derry D. (Lois) Lesh of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Patricia E. Pollock, and a grandson, Dustin L. Kling. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, at the Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel with Minister Josh Arthur officiating. Calling hours are from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 19, at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service Saturday. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Ossian.
