Richard D. Crull Sr., 64, of San Marcos, Calif., passed away at 3:15 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2016, near Poneto.
He was born March 4, 1952, in Wells County to Paul Crull Jr. and Doris (Longfellow) Crull. He married Caroline Soto in Oceanside, Calif., June 9, 1979; she survives.
He worked construction and was self-employed, retiring in 2009. He attended Southern Wells High School and enjoyed being outdoors and spending time in the desert in California. He liked being active by working on tractors and heavy equipment. He was involved with Alcoholics Anonymous support classes.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Richard (Elizabeth Anne) Crull Jr.; two granddaughters, Kylie Grace Lynn Crull and Bailey Rae Crull, both of San Marcos, Calif.; and three brothers, Marvin (Joyce) Crull of Poneto, Alan (Judy) Crull of Portland, and Carl (Maxine Crull of Henderson, Nev.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 22, at the Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, with Alan Crull officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Burial will take place at a later date in California.
