Richard F. Benes, 87, of Bluffton, passed away Friday evening, February 12, 2016, at Summit City Nursing & Rehabilitation in Fort Wayne.

He was born on Feb. 28, 1928, in Cleveland, OH, to Lad and Helen (Croft) Benes.  He married Eleanor Turk on April 29, 1952, in Richmond, VA; she survives.

Richard served in the US Army during the Korean era and retired as an engineer from Franklin Electric after 17 years of service.  He was an avid Purdue fan and especially enjoyed golfing.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by a son, Thomas (Linda) Benes of Atlanta, GA.

There will be no visitation or service.
