Oscar E. Andrews, rural Bluffton, died at 9:48 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, which was his 82nd birthday. Mr. Andrews had worked for Franklin Electric for more than 40 years as head of the Specialty Design Group. He later did consultant work for Franklin Electric. He was a 1946 graduate of Bluffton High School. He attended the Park United Brethren Church and had served as a leader for Boy Scout Troop 140. Mr. Andrews was born March 6, 1928, in Wells County, to Harold P. Andrews and Clara I. Minnich Andrews. He married Lorene Fosnaugh Nov. 1, 1946, in Bluffton; his wife preceded him in death on Feb. 28, 2008. Survivors include two sons, Chris A. Andrews of Camby and Jon N. Andrews of Bluffton; a daughter, Ann Marie Pommer of Bluffton; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth Andrews, who resides in Washington state. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Andrews and Earl Andrews, and three sisters, Janie Andrews, Bonnie Steffen, and Betty Bowman. Calling will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Services will be held at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, with Pastor Larry Taylor officiating. Burial will be at the Six Mile Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Anthony Wayne Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or to Disabled American Veterans.
