Mildred R. Steffen, 92, of Decatur, passed away at 12:20 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at her residence. She was born Feb. 11, 1921, in Adams County to John and Lydia Gerber Steffen. She worked for General Electric in Decatur for 40 years and was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. She is survived by a brother, Ralph (Lucinda) Steffen of Bluffton; and two sisters, Violet Steffen of Decatur and Vergene Reinhard of Decatur. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Harvey, Wilmer, Walter, Norman, Glennes and Harold Steffen; and a sister, Catherine Reinhard. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Apostolic Christian Church East with Mark Gerber and Ron Kipfer officiating. Calling is from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials can be made to Family LifeCare.
