Mildred L. Neuenschwander, 85, of Craigville, died at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at her residence. Mrs. Neuenschwander was born in Craigville on May 15, 1924, to John and Lydia (Gerber) Fiechter. She married William Neuenschwander Jr. in Bluffton on Dec. 9, 1945; he survives. Mrs. Neuenschwander was a housewife and a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. Other surviving relatives include four sons, Tom (Sue) Neuenschwander of Bluffton, Terry (Jean) Neuenschwander of Bluffton, Jeff (Mary Jo) Neuenschwander of Bluffton, Rex (Becky) Neuenschwander of Bluffton; seven daughters, Nancy (Gary) Schladenhauffen of Craigville, Jan (Joe) Schwartz of Bluffton, Darlene (Sam) Habegger of Bluffton, Vickie (Jerry) Meyer of Owosso, Mich., Carol Mock of Bluffton, Marcia (Chuck) Geisel of Bluffton and Peg (Jeff) Yergler of Bluffton; two brothers, Dale (Doris) Fiechter of Bluffton and Gerald (Eunice) Fiechter of Tocsin; three sisters, Lillian (Walter) Bertsch, Doris (Charles) Neuenschwander and Irene Reinhard, all of Bluffton; 32 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Neuenschwander was preceded in death by two brothers, Ervin and John Fiechter; and three sisters, Marie Drayer, Velma Kipfer and Alice Aschliman. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, pril 1, and from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 2, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Additional calling is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. a.m. Saturday, April 3, at the Apostolic Christian Church East. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church with Ron Kipfer and John Reinhard officiating. Burial is at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Christian Care Retirement Community.
