Michael "Mike" R. Young, 68, of rural Zanesville, passed away Friday afternoon, May 12, 2023, at his residence.

Mike was born on Dec. 23, 1954, to Ralph and Beula Young. He married Jackie Perry in Angola on June 10, 1994; she survives.

Mike graduated from Angola High School and later received his bachelor's degree in business management from Tri-State University. He worked for several area employers, including the Indiana State Highway Department for several years. He spent his life working as a mechanic, and especially enjoyed working on cars and tractors.

In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by three sons, Kevin (Jamie) Perry, Jonah Perry, and Shawn Perry, all of Zanesville; along with nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, along with a son, Steven Perry.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel, followed immediately by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Bluffton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bluffton-Wells County Animal Shelter, in care of "Friends of the Shelter".
