Michael A.  "Mike" Nevil, 69, of Bluffton, passed away Monday afternoon, April 18, 2016, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Born on Aug. 27, 1946, in Marion, IN, to Floyd I. and Dorothy M. (Young) Nevil, his mother survives in Kokomo.  Mike married Lucy Moon in Bluffton on June 29, 1990; she survives.

Mike was a member of the last graduating class of Petroleum High School in 1966.  He then went to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1967 until 1969.  He was a long time member of the Bluffton American Legion Post 111 and served many years on the Honor Guard.  He was also a member of the Bluffton Elks Lodge 796 and Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 242 of Bluffton.

Mike was a retired painter, and a huge Philadelphia Eagles and Indiana University Hoosiers fan.

In addition to his mother and wife, Mike is survived by a son, Travis (Leah) Nevil of Sharpsville; a grandson, Jackson Nevil; a brother, John Nevil of Bluffton; and a sister, Robin (Larry) Hoover of Davisburg, MI.

Mike was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be Friday, April 22, 2016, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, with an Elks Memorial Service held at 7:00 PM.  Services will be held Saturday morning, at 10:30 AM, at the funeral home, with one hour of visitation prior to the service.  Pastor Charles E. Moon will officiate.  Burial will be at Alberson Cemetery in Adams County with military graveside rites provided by the US Marine Corps in conjunction with the Bluffton American Legion Post 111.

Memorial contributions in Mike's memory may be given to the Bluffton American Legion Post 111.
