After a 9+ yr battle with cancer, Michael A. Neuenschwander, 66, of Bluffton, Indiana, passed away surrounded by his family on August 30, 2018.

Mike was born to John T. Neuenschwander and Irene E. (Isch) in Wells County on Dec. 15, 1951, both parents preceded him in death.

Mike is survived by his wife, Candace, of 37 years; children Ben (Lauren) Neuenschwander, Jessica Neuenschwander, and Emily (Stephen DeLucia) Neuenschwander; grandchildren Olivia and Sutton Neuenschwander; siblings Randy (Judy), Linda (Jeff) McAfee, and Joe (Amy); and his furry family Sassafras, Scrappy, Duke, and Timmy.

Mike worked for Michael Kinder & Sons for 30+ years as a foreman laborer. After his retirement in 2008, Mike was free to pursue his true passion: tending to all things green.

An avid gardener, he cared for acres of garden and orchard, growing abundance of vegetables, fruits, flowers, and more. With a generous spirit, Mike consistently provided an abundance of his harvest to family and friends.

When not in the garden, Mike could be found exploring nature. He enjoyed hiking in state parks, walking the countryside with his dogs, foraging for wild mushrooms, and taking lengthy bike rides. Mike was a man who felt most at peace outdoors.

Visitation will be held Monday (Sept. 3, 2018) from 10:00 AM till 6:00 PM at the Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel 3220 East SR 124 Bluffton, IN.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 PM Monday at the funeral home following the visitation. Pastor Kent Koteskey will officiate.
