Meri M. Williams, 60, Ossian, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Meri was born July 14, 1953, in Wells County to Charles E. and Wilma I. James Leverton. She married A.D. Williams Jan. 27, 1973, in Bluffton; he survives. Meri graduated from Norwell High School in 1971. She retired in July 2010 from the Indiana Department of Transportation in Fort Wayne as a secretary for 15 years. She was a member of the American Legion Post 160 of Roanoke. Meri enjoyed gardening, motorcycle riding with her husband, crafts of all kinds, and spending time with the grandchildren. She loved the Fourth of July fireworks and Halloween, her two favorite holidays. Survivors include two sons, Patrick (Cami) Williams of Bluffton and Curtis Drudge of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Regina Kashmer of Fort Wayne; three sisters, Janet (Mack) Hobbs of Georgia, Bobby Jo (Bo) Osborn of Bluffton, and Betty Baker of Fort Wayne; a brother, Sunny (Kay) Cross of Mountain, Co.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 16, at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel with Pastor Clark Stoller officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.
