Melodie A. Houshoulder, 55, of Bluffton, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 16, 2014, at 2:19 P.M., at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Bluffton, IN, on February 1, 1959, to Ray and Delores (Wedler) Lowe; her mother survives in Kingsland. Melodie married Joe Houshoulder in Kingsland, IN, on February 14, 1984; he survives. Melodie was a 1977 graduate of Norwell High School and a homemaker. Additional survivors include two daughters, Leisa (Ron) McZegle of Bluffton, and Cassie Richardson of Rural Valley, PA; six sons, Sam (Stephen) Houshoulder of Huntington, Scott Houshoulder of Ohio, Brandon (Amanda) Houshoulder of New Philadelphia, OH, Ren Rose of Huntington, Derek Rose of Wabash, and Levi Richardson of Huntington. She is also survived by six grandchildren along with three sisters, Carole (Gerry) Middleton of Oak Ridge, TN, Darlene (Dan) Gerdom of Bluffton, and Gloria White of Ossian; and one brother, Otto "Tank" (Marilyn) Lowe of Kingsland. Visitation will be Thursday, November 20, 2014, at Goodwin - Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton from 2:00 until 6:00 P.M. A funeral service celebrating Meldoie's life will be held immediately following visitation on Thursday at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Arley Higginbotham officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the family in care of the funeral home.
