Obituary

Mary Lou Nusbaumer, 95, formally of Keystone, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, June 6, 2018, at Christian Care Retirement Community in  Bluffton.

Mary Lou was born in Wells County on July 9, 1922, to Charlie and Fern (Roll) Thomas.

She married Kenneth E. Nusbaumer in Wells County on January 27, 1945: he preceded her in death on October 27, 2009.

Mary Lou was a homemaker, and along with her husband, they operated the family farm together for over 60 years. She was a lifelong member of  the Chester Center Church, where she played piano up until her 91st  birthday.  Most of all, she enjoyed gardening, cross stich, and cooking and being a homemaker to her family.

Survivors include three daughters, Marlene (Jim) Hoag, of Craigville; Carol Lugar, of Bluffton, Linda (Carl) Marvic, of Cincinnati, OH; a son, Darrel (Debbie) Nusbaumer, of Bluffton;  11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; and brother, James Roll Thomas, of Payson, AZ.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, G. Lamoine Nusbaumer; two sisters, Jane Ann Carnall and Peggy Jean Nelson: and grandson, Kenneth Eugene Lugar.

Visitation will be Friday, June 8, 2018, from 2:00 until 7:00 PM at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel. Services will be held Saturday, June 9, at 10:30 AM, at the funeral home, with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the  chapel.

Burial will follow at the Stahl Cemetery, Wells County.
