Mary Ellen Martin, 91, of Vera Cruz, passed away Wednesday evening at 10:00 P.M., May 8, 2013, at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur. Born on January 22, 1922, in Keenesburg, IL, to James C. and Mary M. (Hedge) Lovellette, Mary married Ervin O. Martin in Monroe, IN, on May 16, 1937; he preceded her in death on April 8, 1987. Mrs. Martin attended Luckey School in Adams County and was a homemaker. She was a former member of the Ossian Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the former Mulberry St. Wesleyan church in Bluffton. Surviving are two sons, Leroy (Carole) Martin of Decatur and Randy Martin of Toledo, OH; ten daughters, Judy Mikesell of Bluffton, Brenda (Bob) Haddix of Bluffton, Marilyn Striker of Bluffton, Beverly (Norm) Espy of Warren, Carol Gish (companion Larry Davis) of Geneva, Kathy Martin of Bluffton, Sherry (John) Hacker of Huntington, Christine (Bryce) Schug of Bluffton, Lisa (Ron) Stewart of Bluffton, and Becky (Pat) Bennett of Warren; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Lovellette and James Lovellette; and three sisters, Florence Whittenbarger, Opal Peterson, and Pearl Brubaker. Visitation will be held Friday, May 10, 2013, from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Goodwin - Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel. Services will be held Saturday, at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be at the Vera Cruz Cemetery in Vera Cruz, IN.
