Mary Jane Sprunger, age 87, formerly of Berne, passed away on Saturday morning, Oct. 3, 2020, at Wyndmoor of Castleton assisted living facility in Indianapolis.

Mary Jane was born in Wells County on April 22, 1933, to William and Ida Meyer Troxel.  She married Dr. Frederick F. Sprunger in Bluffton in April of 1953.  He preceded her in death on May 22, 1986.

Mary Jane was a graduate of Kirkland High School in Adams County and was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Kevin (Gail) Sprunger of Buda, TX, and Derek (Lisa) Sprunger of Indianapolis; a brother, Dwight (Beverly) Troxel of Bluffton; five grandchildren, Crystal (Michael) Kurek, Heather (Paul) Handrigan, Amber (Joseph) Wirtala, Caroline Sprunger and Frederick Sprunger, along with three great-grandchildren, Violet and Willow Kurek and Jacob Wirtala.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Jane was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph, Kenneth, William, and Willard Troxel; and three sisters, Alice and Marjorie Troxel, and Evelyn Meyer.

A private family graveside service and burial was held at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Adams County.  Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
