MARY JANE GOODWIN, 85, of Fort Wayne, died on Friday, July 15, 2011, 4:40 p.m. at Saint Anne Home, Fort Wayne. Born Aug. 1, 1925, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Bear and Alda (Sprouls). She was a 1943 graduate of South Side High School. She married J. Thomas "Tom" Goodwin on Oct. 16, 1946, in Fort Wayne; he survives. She was a housewife; worked at Holsum Bakery from 1946 to 1949 and Dana Corporation in 1967. She was an avid seamstress and square dancer and member of St. Vincent dePaul Church, Fort Wayne, and the Rosary Society. Also surviving are her daughter, Linda (Mel) Willsey of St. Louis, Mo.; son, Robert (Tami) Goodwin of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son, John Goodwin, in 2004; and brother, Art Bear Jr. Mass of Christian Burial is 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at St. Vincent dePaul Church, 1502 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior.
