Mary E. Frauhiger, 99, of Bluffton, passed away Sunday evening, Dec. 25, 2016, at Christian Care Retirement Community.
Born in Adams County, on Jan. 18, 1917, to George and Leah (Steffen) Ringger, Mary married Leonard Frauhiger in Wells County on Aug. 9, 1941; he preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 1975.
Mary worked at Isch Gas in Bluffton for many years and was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church.
She is survived by a son, Pete (Norma) Frauhiger of Roanoke; two granddaughters, Shannon Clark of Columbia City and Shelby (Kent) Longenbaugh of Roanoke; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bill (Marge) Ringger, George (Evelyn) Ringger, and Al (Colleen) Ringger, all of Bluffton; and two sisters, Ida Aschliman and Lillian (Richard) Yergler, both of Bluffton.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeff Frauhiger; and five brothers, Raymond, Orville, Sylvan "Sib", Reuben, and Arthur Ringger.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, from 2:00 until 8:00 PM, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Services will be held Thursday, Dec. 29, at 10:30 AM, at the Apostolic Christian Church East, with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Mary's memory may be made to Christian Care Retirement Community.
