Mary Etheleen Buchanan, 77, of Liberty Center went home to be with her Lord Friday evening, Oct. 7, 2016.

n in Liberty Center on January 28, 1939, to Omer and Orah (Culp) Grover, Mary married Earnest Lee "
Earnie" Buchanan in Bluffton in June of 1958; he preceded her in death on April 21, 2015.
A 1957 graduate of Liberty Center High School, Mary started her career as a switchboard operator in Liberty Center and later owned the Liberty Center Coffee Shop together with her husband for many years. Mary along with her husband Earnest were instrumental in the founding of the Calvary Chapel and then later the Harvest Time Bible Church, both in the Bluffton area. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, baking pies, but will most be remembered for being a strong -hearted Christian woman.
Survivors include a son, Terry Buchanan of Liberty Center; three daughters, Sheree (Allen) Lawhorn of Liberty Center, Tracy (Darrell) Reynolds of Ossian, and Christiana David of Bluffton; four grandchildren, Amanda Huffman, Scott Lawhorn, A.J. Reynolds, and Gracie David; one great-grandson, Emmett Lawhorn; three sisters, Jone Smith of Warren, Carolyn Garman of Warren, and Cindy Valentine of Bluffton; and two brothers, Jim (Diane) Grover of Bluffton and Bill (Melvra) Grover of Vera Cruz; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Janie; and brothers, Jerry Grover, Eric Grover and Ronald Grover.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, from 3:00 until 7:00 PM at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel. Services will be held immediately following visitation on Tuesday at 7:00 PM with Pastor Tony Robles officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Warren at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Harvest Time Bible Church.
